Catch-All Kitchen Cabinet

Do you have a catch all cabinet in your kitchen? Here's mine -ahem- one of mine.
Just in case you think it's not that bad, here's a close up.

There we have it. I whipped out the label maker and
some dollar store baskets.
Also got a strange urge to not only line each shelf with shelf liner but
also the back of the cabinet too....?
It's no wonder I put off organizing...
I did this about a month ago and everything is staying put....could it be...the
power of labels?
Label maker is my new BFF.
Check out the after math.

Reviving the Deck

After a long winter with no love, below is the sad, lowly state of the deck.

Fifteen dollar rug turned into the consistency of a dried paper towel.
Yuck.
We flipped the rug over.

My lovely assitant and I grabbed some painters tape
and commenced to taping using the boards on the deck as a guide.
Oh, yeah, we commence 'round these parts.

Intoduce spray paint to make sure our idea will work...

Alas! It does!
and better than I thought because the paint gets on the fat, blank
lines just enough to make it look intentional. Yay.

Adam hit my pot with the lawn mower so I took this doo-hickey
gave it some paint (because I'm in that mode) and repotted it.

And here's the finished result:

Husband and I are planning to stain the deck soon
but so far, I'm please with this mini-makeover
                                                             on a $0 budget. (( :

The Living Room Sheds it's Reds

Here is the living room a while back.
The jury is still out as to whether or not we will ever get a coffee table.
Coffee tables are not Wii or wrestling friendly. -Con

living room will be forever unbalanced.- Con

Let me just point out the glaringly obvious. Apparently Goliath, the Jolly Green Giant and Gulliver live here because the height of that picture is ridiculous. It's above the door frame!!  It was later lowered LOL and picture hangers (i.e. Husband and Tim) were fired.

Switching it up a bit...

The pics don't do this mirror justice. It is really beautiful
and the light just bounces off of it.

Those stools are hand-me-downs desperately awaiting
their makeover.

Walmart curtains purchased on roll-back were a
pitifully sparse so I treated each window with 4.

The color closest to the wall below is
the future color of the kitchen which I
hope will tie everything together nicely.

I'll keep you posted on that!
